Favorite Quote: Nothing I can imagine I can do will be kept from me.
1. What is a typical work day for you at Daniel Enterprises?
Catching the morning calls, sometime between 6 and 7, if something’s gone wrong, if something needs my attention as far as figuring stuff out if the guys are having a problem at a job site. After that, I start responding to emails for the first couple hours of the morning, typically at home; then move on to project work like templates we’re building, the systems we’re working on, looking at jobs and make sure that everything is moving according to schedule. Once I get to the office I’ll get caught up with Jason and see if anything needs my attention in the financial side and then I’ll get back to project work and checking stuff off of my To-Do List. Then later in the afternoon I’ll have a call with Brian to make sure that our jobs are properly scheduled so we’re not overfilled and jobs aren’t overlapping.
2. What is the best skill that you bring to the DE?
Being able to deconstruct how things work as far as looking at a roof and how we quote things, how we track things; being able to build systems to determine what we need for every specific job and what we need to do to meet our client’s expectations.
3. What is your main objective at the beginning of each project?
Typically when we first look a job the goal is to figure out what the client actually needs, sometimes they don’t know what it is, sometimes they think they need a replacement but all they need is a repair so figuring out what that is and then educating them on their options and what they will get out of that option. Not pushing them into something they don’t need at the moment. Once we start the project, setting them up to achieve the expectations set in the sales process, make sure that our guy are doing what is expected so the client can get what’s expected from what was quoted.
4. What is a goal that you’ve set for yourself with DE?
We have several growth goals this year as far as adding new people and revenue and stuff like that but my biggest goal is to create an environment where people can cash-out on their maximum value. Making sure that any member is getting paid according to the skill level so that they enjoy doing the work. That way they’re happy, I’m happy, and most importantly, our clients are happy.
5. Do you have any skills or talents that people don’t know about?
I’m a really good cook. Maybe because all the time that I spent in restaurants and because I like to create and deconstruct things I figured out what flavor work well together. I’m not a TV level chef but I’ve learned to mix things together to where everyone who has is loves it.
6. Sunday mornings, you can usually find me…
Sundays are days to relax with my family. They typically start really slow, maybe watch one or two movie in our PJs and cook or go out for brunch and do something as a family. We typically go to church on the evening.
7. Name three words that describe you.
Stubborn, not only in the negative way but also if I set myself to do something I won’t stop until I find a way to make it happen and it’s done.
Loyal, I have a small group of friends that I would do anything for.
Provider, mainly because being provided for was one of the lacks growing up, not only in the sense that they don’t have to wonder if we have enough to eat for the week but also in the emotional state, being there and listen to my daughter’s stories for example.
8. What makes you the happiest when you’re not working?
Hanging out with the small group of friends that I have, doing stuff together, having experiences like going to a concert and doing it right, in a way that we’d all remember it.
9. What is a goal you set for yourself in the next year?
Abs! In June of 2017 I was hovering between 226 and 232, I lost 46 pounds in a period of 3 to 4 months but I still don’t have abs so that’s my goal for 2018. Even if I lose them in a couple of months.
